Madhya Pradesh to Get New Airport in Shivpuri

The Madhya Pradesh government has approved 292 acres of land for the development of Shivpuri airport, marking a significant step in enhancing the state's air connectivity. The decision was finalised during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

Currently, Shivpuri has an airstrip, which will be upgraded into a full-fledged airport by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The facility will be capable of handling aircraft like the ATR-72. Union Minister of Communications and Guna-Shivpuri MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia, welcomed the approval and expressed gratitude to CM Mohan Yadav. Scindia had previously played a key role in securing approvals for airports in both Guna and Shivpuri during his tenure as Civil Aviation Minister.

Once operational, the new airport is expected to boost Shivpuri’s economic growth and tourism, strengthening the region’s connectivity and development.
