L&T Construction clinches major power transmission contracts
L&T Construction revealed that its Power Transmission and Distribution business has successfully secured crucial contracts both in India and abroad during the current quarter. In Chhattisgarh, the company received an order to establish 400kV and 220kV transmission lines, aimed at easing congestion in the state's electricity transmission grid.
Internationally, L&T Construction won a contract in Saudi Arabia for the turnkey construction of a 380kV Substation, including associated overhead transmission lines. Additionally, in Kuwait, the company secured an order to construct five substations, ensuring reliable and efficient power supply to an upcoming residential city. Further, L&T Construction won additional orders in the ongoing substation projects in Qatar.
A notable achievement came in the form of a consortium-based order in Malaysia, where the company will establish a 275kV Underground Cable system, effectively doubling the power transmission capacity in the existing network.
According to company reports, the significant order falls within the range of Rs 10 billion to Rs 25 billion, while large orders are valued between Rs 25 billion and Rs 50 billion. Major orders are in the range of Rs 50 billion to Rs 70 billion, and mega orders are valued at above Rs 70 billion.
