L&T secures contracts worth Rs 492 cr for Bangalore Metro


Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded two track-work contracts worth Rs 492 crore by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) for the 56 km Line-5 (Blue Line) of the Bangalore Metro.

The contracts involve the supply and construction of approximately 68 miles of ballastless tracks for the main line and ballasted tracks within the remodelled Baiyappanahalli Depot and Airport Depot at Shettigere.

Phase-2A (ORR line) and Phase-2B (airport line) of the Bangalore Metro will connect Silkboard-KR Puram-Bengaluru International Airport, encompassing 30 stations along the outer ring road and NH-44.

The contracts were awarded in two packages, with T1 covering the ORR line and a section of the airport line, estimated at Euro 32 million, and T2 spanning from Kempapura Metro station to Airport Metro station, with an estimated cost of Euro 23.2 million.
