Kolkata Metro Extends Yellow Line to Birati Post-Airport Clearance

Kolkata Metro has officially extended its Yellow Line to Birati after receiving necessary clearances from airport authorities. This extension marks a significant milestone in improving the city's transit network and enhancing connectivity for commuters.

The extension, which now includes the Birati station, aims to provide a seamless travel experience for residents and visitors travelling to and from the region. This development is expected to ease traffic congestion and offer a more efficient alternative to road travel.

The airport clearance was a crucial step in ensuring the extension met all safety and operational standards. With the addition of Birati, the Yellow Line now connects more neighbourhoods, supporting both daily commuters and those travelling to and from the airport.

This expansion aligns with Kolkata Metro's broader goal of increasing accessibility and reducing travel time across the city. The extension is anticipated to boost local economies and improve overall urban mobility by integrating key areas within the metro network.
