Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Reviews Highway Construction Projects

Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister, Karnataka, while traveling by road from Mysuru to the Shiradi Ghat landslide site, inspected the ongoing construction work on highway projects in Karnataka and gathered information from officials.

As the Chief Minister's vehicle neared Bilikere Cross, he was briefed on the proposed 41 km long four-lane National Highway project between Bilikere Cross and Yadagondanahalli. Officials informed him that tenders had been called for this significant Rs 6 billion project.

Concerned about road safety, the Chief Minister issued instructions to cover the potholes along the route, emphasizing the need to prevent accidents. He directed officials to address the potholes once the rains had ceased. While passing through Doddakadanur in Hole Narasipur taluk, he instructed officials over the phone to replace dangerously positioned electric poles and repair hazardous wiring.

The Chief Minister also identified damaged road dividers while passing through Halli Mysuru and instructed the concerned officers to undertake the necessary repairs.

Although it was Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's birthday, admirers along the route waited to offer garlands and shawls to wish him. However, he declined to receive any gifts, stating that he does not celebrate his birthday, and simply waved his hand before moving on.

Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah announced that the state government would construct 100 houses for the victims of the landslide-hit Wayanad in Kerala.
