Jharkhand CM Accelerates 'Abua Awas' Housing Scheme

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren directed officials to expedite the construction of 2 lakh houses in the first phase of the 'Abua Awas' scheme. This housing initiative, launched by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren in November last year, aims to provide homes to those who have not benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

"Speed up the construction process of 2 lakh houses under the first phase," the Chief Minister asserted during a review meeting. "Action will be taken against those who commit irregularities and negligence."

The first installment for the houses has already been released, and Soren emphasized that the beneficiaries are among the state's poorest residents. He directed that construction materials, such as sand, be provided at the lowest possible rates and that transparency be maintained in selecting beneficiaries.

In addition to the housing scheme, Soren reviewed the performance of the Land and Revenue Department. He called for an investigation into long-pending mutation cases in zonal offices, emphasizing the need for timely execution. "Such mutation cases are neither executed nor rejected. They should be investigated," he stated. The Chief Minister identified poor performance in land mutation execution in zones of Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Giridih, and Palamu, urging action against underperforming officers.

Soren also evaluated the progress of the school education and literacy department. He announced the establishment of 'CM School of Excellence' in every block of the state, aiming to match the standards of the best private institutions. The Chief Minister directed the appointment of regular teachers and continuous monitoring of the facilities provided in these schools.

Further, the Chief Minister reviewed the expenditure of the District Mineral Foundation Trust fund, noting low expenditure in Pakur, Garhwa, Chatra, and Ramgarh. He instructed the deputy commissioners of these districts to increase spending and expedite the implementation of schemes under the program.

Chief Minister Soren's directives highlight his administration's focus on accelerating development projects and ensuring efficient governance across Jharkhand.
