Jakson Green Wins NTPC Flue Gas to Ethanol Project

Jakson Green has been awarded a significant contract by NTPC Limited for a pioneering project to convert flue gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into fourth-generation (4G) ethanol. This innovative project aims to address carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy solutions, marking a major step forward in India's clean energy initiatives.

The project, based at NTPC's Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station in Madhya Pradesh, will utilise advanced carbon capture technology to extract CO2 from the flue gases produced by the power plant. The captured CO2 will then be converted into 4G ethanol through a biotechnological process, providing a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Jakson Green, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of the project. The initiative underscores the company's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to tackle environmental challenges and support India's transition to a low-carbon economy.

This project is part of NTPC?s broader strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices. By converting CO2 into ethanol, the project not only helps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also contributes to the production of clean fuel, aligning with the government's goals of increasing the share of renewable energy in the country's energy mix.

The successful implementation of this project is expected to pave the way for similar initiatives across the country, demonstrating the potential of innovative technologies in addressing climate change and fostering sustainable development. Jakson Green?s expertise and NTPC?s commitment to sustainability make this collaboration a landmark achievement in India's clean energy landscape.
