Speaking at the event, Shri Nitin Gadkari emphasised the revolutionary potential of hydrogen in transforming India’s transportation sector. He remarked:

This initiative will accelerate the transition towards sustainable heavy-duty mobility, moving us closer to an efficient, low-carbon future. I congratulate Tata Motors for taking the lead in enabling hydrogen-powered, green, and smart transportation."

Echoing this sentiment, Shri Pralhad Joshi highlighted the role of green hydrogen in achieving India’s energy independence and decarbonising the transport sector: "This trial is a significant milestone in showcasing the potential of green hydrogen in India's mobility sector. As part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, it underscores our commitment to driving innovation and contributing to global climate goals. I commend Tata Motors for pioneering this transformative effort."

This historic trial marks a crucial step in India’s green energy transition, reinforcing Tata Motors’ role in developing sustainable long-haul transportation. Awarded the tender for this pilot project, Tata Motors will conduct trials under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) National Green Hydrogen Mission, assessing the commercial viability of hydrogen-powered freight transport and the infrastructure required for its large-scale adoption.
