India, Israel Strengthen Agricultural Cooperation
Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar met Dr Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss enhancing collaboration in agriculture and allied sectors. The talks focused on food security, sustainable supply chains, and innovative agricultural technologies.
Dr Chaturvedi highlighted the long-standing Indo-Israel agricultural partnership and the Prime Minister’s vision of recycling sewage water for agriculture, alongside addressing key trade and grain storage issues. The meeting also discussed the upcoming visit of Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and the impact of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) across 20 states on productivity, precision irrigation, post-harvest management, and market access.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in agricultural innovation, technology, and the horticulture sector. The Israeli delegation included Deputy Chief of Mission Fares Saeb, while senior officials from the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare represented India.
