Inaugural Colaba-SEEPZ Metro: Mumbai's underground marvel

Mumbai is on the brink of witnessing the inauguration of its inaugural fully underground metro project, which is famously referred to as the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro Line 3. A total of 31 lightweight and fully furnished passenger train sets, designed and constructed by Alstom, a leading rolling stock manufacturer from France, have been specifically created for this significant endeavour. It is anticipated that these train sets, each comprising 8 carriages, will contribute to a noteworthy reduction of 35% in overall traffic congestion while simultaneously curbing air and noise pollution.

The Metropolis train sets crafted by Alstom are highly acclaimed for their exceptional energy-saving capabilities and stringent safety measures. Their construction is influenced by the concept of "Dynamic Fluidism," which draws inspiration from the vibrancy of the city itself. These trains feature a configuration that optimises internal space efficiency, enabling each trainset to accommodate a staggering 3,000 passengers in a single journey. With their distinctive design and diverse configurations, they deliver remarkable performance by utilising reliable components and innovative technology. Moreover, the trains strictly adhere to eco-design standards, incorporating materials and components that are 99% recoverable and 96% recyclable.
