IHCL Signs Greenfield Ginger Hotel in Calicut, Expanding Kerala Presence
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality firm, has signed a greenfield Ginger hotel in Calicut, Kerala. This marks its second hotel in the city.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL, highlighted Calicut’s significance as a key commercial hub and gateway to North Kerala. “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Mr. KM Abdul Latheef for this project,” she stated.
Located in the city centre, the 100-key Ginger Calicut City Center will offer easy access to commercial and cultural landmarks. Designed under Ginger’s lean luxe philosophy, it will feature the all-day diner Qmin, banquet spaces, meeting rooms, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool.
KM Abdul Latheef, Managing Director, Hotel Pearl Dunes Pvt Ltd, expressed enthusiasm over continuing his collaboration with IHCL, while Abdul Shukkoor Puthalath emphasized the project’s role in enhancing Kerala’s hospitality sector.
Calicut, known as the spice city, blends historical richness with a thriving commercial sector. With this addition, IHCL’s Kerala portfolio grows to 20 hotels, including four under development.
