IESA to bring 'white paper' on sustainable future
The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), an industry association, said that it will release a "white paper" with recommendations on how to handle important legislative and policy issues pertaining to cleantech, green hydrogen, electric vehicles (EVs), and battery storage. According to a release from IESA, the white paper on a sustainable future that includes renewable energy will be presented during the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2024, an international conference and expo that is set to take place in New Delhi from July 1?5. The industry association stated that the white paper would be delivered in front of at least seven Union ministries and more than 200 international energy professionals from more than 50 nations who are attending the event. The industry group will recommend the necessary steps to establish India as a worldwide cleantech powerhouse. Rahul Walawalkar, President of IESA and Customised Energy Solutions, India, stated that their white paper aimed to propose the immediate steps required to achieve the vision of the green energy transition as India embarks on a clean energy journey with the Modi 3.0 government. He further mentioned that IESW aimed to facilitate smooth dialogue between the industry and various government departments, advocating for EV, cleantech, green hydrogen, and battery storage ecosystems in India. It was mentioned that New & Renewable Energy Secretary Bhupinder Singh Bhalla would attend the inauguration session of the Stationary Storage Day at IESW 2024, focusing on energy storage requirements for modernising the Indian electricity grid and addressing India's ambitious renewable target. Furthermore, it was stated that besides the Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ghanshyam Prasad and Jishnu Barua, Chairperson of the Central Electricity Regulatory Authority (CERC), would join various panels to discuss government policies supporting energy storage adoption in the country. The event was also expected to see participation from senior officials of several ministries, including heavy industries, mines, power, MSME, environment, forest, and climate change (MoEFCC), science & technology, commerce & industries, as well as NITI Aayog, among others. Officials from various state nodal agencies, members of the Association of Renewable Energy Agencies of States (AREAS), state discoms (power distribution companies), and transport agencies were also expected to attend the event.
