Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has announced that expansion work on NH-65 from Hyderabad to Vijayawada will begin within three months, aiming for completion in the shortest possible time.

The project will transform NH-65 into a six-lane highway, with the goal of reducing travel time between the cities to just two hours. Additionally, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders for a 161.5 km stretch of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) from Sangareddy to Choutuppal, estimated at Rs 7,104 crore.

Minister Reddy also highlighted the efforts to build a port at Veliminedu to connect Andhra Pradesh’s Bandar and Kakinada ports, urging the Union Government to prioritise this initiative.
