Housing Department to update construction stages in 100 days

District Collector Harendira Prasad has mandated that the Housing Department update the construction stages for over 71,000 houses within 100 days, in accordance with state and central government guidelines.

During a review of urban and rural housing projects, involving various layouts and progress discussions with the Housing Department and other relevant departments, the collector emphasised the need for swift action. A total of 129,000 houses have been sanctioned across 138 rural layouts and 64 urban layouts, out of the planned 139,000 houses, with 23,995 houses completed so far.

The Vizag collector stressed the importance of adhering to the government's 100-day action plan, directing officials to prioritise the stage update for 71,133 houses, advance 4,109 houses to the slab level, and complete 11,450 houses. He instructed that work should commence in all layouts, with active engagement between contractors and beneficiaries.

To ensure accountability and progress, the collector called for internal reviews and daily progress reports starting from August 10. Officials were also tasked with ensuring that beneficiaries participate in Geo Tagging.
