Hostel Tender Issued In Assam
The Public Works Department (PWD) of Assam has floated a tender for the construction of a dedicated working women’s hostel at Panjabari in Guwahati. The move is part of the state’s efforts to enhance women’s safety, welfare, and accommodation infrastructure, particularly for those employed in urban sectors away from their hometowns.
As per the tender floated recently, the project involves building a three-storey structure designed to provide secure and affordable housing for working women. The facility will be equipped with modern amenities and focus on creating a comfortable and safe environment. The proposed site at Panjabari is strategically chosen to ensure accessibility and proximity to essential services and workplaces.
The initiative is in line with the Assam government’s broader agenda of promoting women’s empowerment and social infrastructure development. By addressing accommodation challenges faced by working women, the project aims to encourage greater female participation in the workforce.
The tendering process is currently open, and interested contractors can submit bids within the stipulated deadline. Once awarded, the construction is expected to commence promptly, contributing to the state’s goal of inclusive urban development and gender-responsive planning.
