Haryana govt to amend building bylaws to ensure occupants security
The Government of Haryana is considering amendments in building bylaws with additional safety criteria to ensure the security of occupants before or after purchasing apartments in multi-storeyed group housing societies. The urban local bodies, town and country planning department and Haryana Sheri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) are already working on the issues regarding better safety norms for buildings. Meanwhile, the government is furthermore analysing the possibility of giving additional powers to the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (H-Rera) for security and other related issues. Senior officials in the Chief Minister's office (CMO) said work towards this direction has already started, and there is a chance of bringing some amendments before the assembly session. Currently, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, in corresponding development work at Gurgaon, said that the work would be done to create safe and convenient group housing societies across the state. So that people living in these societies could receive all the essential amenities promptly. He said the concerns of the residents living in these societies would be resolved at the earliest. Khattar informed that soon, a seminar would be organised via H-Rera, where Resident Welfare Association (RWAs) can share their suggestions and problems. Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikara (HSVP), the town and country planning department would also be a part of the seminar. Image Source
