Haryana bans BS-III petrol, BS-IV diesel vehicles to control pollution
Due to the deteriorating air quality in Gurugram and Faridabad, the Haryana transport commissioner has officially prohibited the operation of vehicles falling under the BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel categories.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, stated that the Transport Commissioner of Haryana has issued a ban on the usage of four-wheeler light motor vehicles falling under Bharat Stage-III (petrol) and BS IV (diesel) categories within Gurugram and Faridabad districts.
Yadav emphasised strict enforcement of these directives within the district and urged residents to collaborate with the administration in pollution control efforts.
He warned that any individual found using vehicles belonging to the specified categories within the district would face fines and legal consequences under Section 194 (1) of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. These measures are effective immediately and will persist until November 30 or until the lifting of Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), according to DC Yadav. ?
