Hardeep S Puri Opens PNGRB’s New Office at World Trade Center
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) inaugurated its new office at the World Trade Center, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. The event was attended by key officials, including the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Secretary of the Ministry, PNGRB Board members, senior officials, and industry stakeholders.
The upgraded office features multiple meeting rooms and a large conference room to facilitate interactions between the Board and industry representatives. The previous office, established in 2007 when PNGRB was constituted, had become inadequate to meet operational requirements. The new facility will also house the National Hydrocarbon Infrastructure Management System (NHIMS), a dedicated center designed to receive real-time information on petroleum and natural gas transportation across the country. It will also track the progress of pipelines authorized by PNGRB.
The NHIMS integrates advanced software technologies to process real-time data from petroleum and natural gas companies. It also incorporates geographical elements such as roads, railways, and water bodies to enhance strategic planning and efficient monitoring. This initiative aims to improve oversight and infrastructure management in the sector.
PNGRB continues to focus on creating a regulatory framework that ensures fair governance and promotes sustainable growth in the petroleum and natural gas industry. The establishment of the new office and the integration of NHIMS reflect the Board’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, regulatory oversight, and industry coordination.
