HAL to Build Parallel Runway at Nashik Airport

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) is set to construct a parallel runway at Nashik Airport to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate the city's growing aviation needs. The project is estimated to cost Rs 2 billion and is expected to be completed in about two years.

HAL has already appointed a consultant to design the runway and assess technical parameters. A technical survey is underway, analyzing soil conditions and structural feasibility. Once completed, the tendering process for construction will begin, with authorities expecting to release the tender by the end of March.

The new runway will be 3 km long and 45 meters wide, mirroring the existing one. This additional infrastructure will ensure uninterrupted operations, especially during maintenance work on the primary runway. It will also strengthen air connectivity in Nashik.

A HAL official stated, "The new runway will not only boost operational reliability but also support the growing air connectivity in Nashik."
