GRSE Signs MoU with Army for Modular Steel Bridge in Arunachal Pradesh
Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) has formalised an agreement with the Indian Army for the construction of a 130-feet-long Single Lane Modular (SLM) Steel Bridge (70R) in Arunachal Pradesh. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by GRSE’s General Manager (Bailey Bridges) in collaboration with the Indian Army.
GRSE has a significant track record in bridge construction and has been a key supplier of modular bridges to various organizations, including the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL). The company has also extended its services internationally, supplying modular bridges to neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
In 2022, GRSE became the first Indian company to receive the Green Channel Certification from the Indian Army for Portable Steel Bridges of the Bailey type. Continuing its expansion, the company signed an agreement with NHIDCL in 2024 for the supply of Class 70R Double-Lane Bridges. As part of its ongoing projects, GRSE has delivered 44 modular bridges to BRO for installation across India.
To date, GRSE has supplied over 5,800 modular bridges, reinforcing its commitment to indigenous manufacturing under the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The company continues to play a crucial role in strengthening India's infrastructure, particularly in remote and strategically important regions.
