Grievance Redressal at MHADA: Key Highlights from the Eighth Lokshahi Day

MHADA held its Eighth Lokshahi Day at its Bandra East headquarters, chaired by Milind Borikar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Board and Acting Vice President & CEO of MHADA. The event focused on resolving grievances related to illegal construction and pending housing allotments.

A complaint by Ravindra Kamtekar highlighted unauthorized construction on the terrace of Suruchi Cooperative Housing Society, Abhyudayanagar. Despite prior complaints, no action had been taken under the MRTP Act. Borikar directed the Executive Engineer to survey the building, prepare a detailed report, and ensure action is completed within a month through the Encroachment Removal Cell.

Another grievance, raised by Rupesh Ghadi, pertained to delays in flat possession under PMAY (Urban) from the 2018 Konkan Board lottery. After resolving verification issues on the PMAY portal, Borikar instructed officers to expedite the flat handover.

Of the four applications received, two were from the Mumbai Board and two from the Konkan Board. So far, MHADA has resolved 75 of 81 grievances submitted across eight Lokshahi Day events, demonstrating its commitment to addressing public concerns efficiently.
