Greenzo Energy secures green hydrogen project for Ennore SEZ plant

Greenzo Energy, India’s sole indigenous alkaline electrolyzer manufacturer, has been awarded a green hydrogen generation project for the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO)’s Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Power Plant.

Won through a competitive bidding process, the project will involve Greenzo Energy establishing a hydrogen generation plant with a capacity of 20 normal cubic meters of hydrogen per hour. This facility will complement the 2x660 MW supercritical power plant operated by TANGEDCO, a Tamil Nadu government entity. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been appointed as the project engineering management company.

The alkaline electrolyzers for this initiative will be designed and manufactured at Greenzo Energy’s facility in Sanand, Gujarat. This project marks a significant step for the company as it enhances its footprint in the green hydrogen sector.

Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Greenzo Energy, stated, “As the capacity for grid and renewable energy expands, our scalable solutions and locally developed electrolyzers will meet the rising demand for green hydrogen in India. We are eager to assist TANGEDCO in its transition to a cleaner energy landscape by leveraging our market expertise, extensive experience, and technology.”

The project is expected to be completed within the designated timeline, aligning with the government’s Green Hydrogen Mission, which seeks to position India as a major player in the global green hydrogen market.
