Greater Noida to Build 750-Acre Smart Industrial Township
Aiming to provide enhanced safety, an efficient traffic management system and seamless delivery of essential services through advanced technology, a new integrated industrial township covering nearly 750 acres will be developed near the Noida International Airport.
Officials stated that smart city-like features will be implemented, with all civic services operated through a centralised digital system. “A modern Command and Control Centre will be established to monitor and manage key services such as electricity, water, waste, traffic and security. Around 140 high-definition CCTV and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will be installed throughout the township to improve safety,” said Ravi Kumar NG, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL).
All civic services will be transitioned to an online platform via specialised IITGNL software modules, featuring GIS mapping, automated billing and real-time dashboards. The CEO also confirmed that environmental sensors would track air quality, temperature, humidity and rainfall.
“The system will utilise cloud technology to ensure swift service delivery and robust data security. The smart systems will be integrated to manage electricity supply, water distribution, street lighting and waste collection,” he added.
Greater Noida Integrated Industrial Township Limited has floated a tender to appoint a Master System Integrator (MSI) for the installation of high-definition CCTV cameras, sensors, cabling infrastructure, control room setup and staffing to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor’s Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (DMIC IITGNL) will set up an advanced Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 40 crore. Authorities have confirmed that the tender for selecting the MSI has been released, with proposals being accepted until 7 May.
DMIC has already implemented smart city infrastructure over 828 acres in Greater Noida. The forthcoming township is envisioned to accommodate 30,000 residents and generate over 50,000 employment opportunities. Officials stated that DMIC IITGNL aims to build a connected, secure industrial city catering to the needs of investors.
“The new control centre will be integrated with Greater Noida’s Integrated Security and Traffic Management System (ISTMS) and Safe City projects for enhanced urban governance. The ICCC will consolidate essential services on a unified digital platform, connected via a Fibre-to-the-X (FTTX) network,” a senior officer explained.
High-definition surveillance and ANPR cameras will enable comprehensive vehicle monitoring, identification of blacklisted number plates and prompt real-time alerts. The system will link with Greater Noida’s broader ISTMS and Safe City initiatives to enable coordinated operations across the region.
