GOI to Distribute Keys to Self-Redeveloped Societies in North Mumbai
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, distributed keys to 15 self-redeveloped housing societies in North Mumbai. Goyal assured full central support for Maharashtra’s urban redevelopment and infrastructure initiatives, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing permanent housing for families currently living in temporary structures.
He praised ongoing infrastructure advancements in North Mumbai, including the construction of a 1000-bed hospital near Magathane metro station and a planned hospital in West Kandivali. Goyal also lauded Fadnavis’ leadership in major projects like the Coastal Road extension from Worli-Bandra to Versova and the proposed coastal road linking the new airport via Atal Sethu.
Addressing civic issues, Goyal noted efforts to tackle road damage through cement-concrete roads and improve sewage treatment with a Rs 260 billion allocation. He encouraged greater participation in self-redevelopment initiatives, seeing them as a path to sustainable urban development and a secure future for residents.
