Godrej & Boyce completes electrical works
According to a press release, Godrej & Boyce, a subsidiary of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has successfully completed the electrical works for an underground metro project in Mumbai. The company integrated advanced electrical systems across three stations, laying the foundation for a more efficient, connected, and sustainable city. The project, valued at Rs 0.67 billion, involved the provision, installation, testing, and commissioning of modern lighting controls, ventilation infrastructure, and power distribution systems.
Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President and Business Head of Electricals & Electronics at Godrej & Boyce, noted that robust public transportation infrastructure is crucial for sustainable urban development. He highlighted that the company’s involvement in the underground Metro project demonstrates how private conglomerates can effectively support the nation’s infrastructure goals. The use of energy-efficient technologies in the project is expected to reduce operational costs and environmental impact, aligning with India's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
Additionally, the project is anticipated to alleviate city congestion by 15 percent, reflecting Godrej & Boyce’s commitment to responsible infrastructure development. Mirji also emphasised the company’s dedication to combining engineering expertise, innovation, and a commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, contributing to the future of urban mobility and setting new standards for efficiency, safety, and sustainability in India’s infrastructure projects.
