In addition to the metro project, Sawant highlighted plans for Goa's growing IT sector. He mentioned that 50 to 60 IT companies are already operating in the state and emphasized the government's intention to establish an IT hub in Goa.

The chief minister also addressed the ongoing initiatives to modernize infrastructure, including the reconstruction of Panaji and Mapusa's bus stands, which he confirmed are in the planning stages, despite some delays.

**Educational Infrastructure Development**

Sawant further announced plans to build a new common complex on the Goa University campus to house architecture, music, and pharmacy colleges. The complex will be constructed on a 2 lakh sqm land parcel and is expected to provide modern facilities to these institutions. "The pharmacy college building is in a dilapidated state. We want to provide new buildings to architecture, music, and pharmacy colleges," he stated, adding that litigation is in progress, with the foundation stone for the new pharmacy college expected to be laid within six months.

Sawant also expressed a commitment to support nursing students through the Chief Minister's apprenticeship scheme, offering a small stipend for those pursuing postgraduate education. This initiative aims to encourage nursing students to specialize in super-specialties, which are increasingly needed across the healthcare sector.

The session, which included elected student representatives from colleges across Goa, also featured Virendra Singh Solanki, National General Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), who emphasized the role of student union elections in fostering leadership and motivation among students.

Bhushan Savaikar, Director of Higher Education, was also present at the event.
