GMR plans Aerocity projects on 1,500 acres around major airports


GMR Group, the operator of airports in Delhi, Hyderabad, and Goa, is planning a major real estate development on approximately 1,500 acres around these airports. This development will include industrial, commercial, and hospitality projects. A resort-focused development is planned in Goa, which will feature a retail district, hotels, a golf course, and villas. In Hyderabad, the focus will initially be on industrial development, along with plans for office spaces, senior living, and co-living facilities. In Delhi, the group intends to build hotels, hospitals, and office spaces.

GMR is also developing an international greenfield airport in Bhogapuram, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Aman Kapoor, CEO, GMR Aerocity, stated that Aerocity has become a brand for integrated commercial developments at airports, with Delhi Aerocity serving as the flagship project. The transformation of Aerocity into a global business hub includes curated public spaces, pedestrian-friendly areas, public art installations, and GMR's commercial development, Aerocity One. (ET)
