GeM Facilitates One Million Hires

The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has achieved a major milestone in FY 2024-25, enabling the hiring of over one million manpower resources across various government organisations. This success underscores GeM’s role in streamlining public procurement through transparency, efficiency, and compliance. GeM’s manpower outsourcing service offers government buyers access to over 33,000 service providers, facilitating recruitment across skilled and unskilled roles, including Security Personnel, Horticulture Staff, Multi-Tasking Staff, Data Entry Operators, and Facility Management Professionals. Key features of GeM’s manpower service include: - Flexible selection based on skills, experience, and qualifications - Role-specific categories tailored for government needs - Transparent pricing models ensuring minimum wage compliance - Comprehensive Service Level Agreements (SLA) for legal and regulatory adherence

According to GeM CEO Shri Ajay Bhadoo, the platform has evolved into a one-stop digital solution for government procurement, ensuring labour law compliance and procurement efficiency. Launched in 2016, GeM initially facilitated basic services like manpower hiring, security, and sanitation. Over five years, it has expanded to over 330 services, including drone services, AR/VR solutions, cloud services, and cybersecurity. The one million manpower hires milestone highlights the growing adoption of GeM as a trusted digital procurement platform in government sectors.
