GAIL signs long-term LNG deal with ADNOC gas

On November 14, 2024, GAIL India Limited signed a significant 10-year agreement with UAE’s ADNOC Gas to purchase up to 0.52 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG), starting in 2026. This deal supports India’s growing demand for natural gas, and the LNG will be sourced from ADNOC’s Das Island facility, which has a processing capacity of 6.0 MMTPA.

The deal aligns with India’s energy strategy to increase natural gas's share in its energy mix, aiming for 15% by 2030. GAIL’s Director of Marketing, Sanjay Kumar, highlighted that the partnership with ADNOC reflects the country's ambition to meet future energy needs while diversifying its sources of natural gas.
