Gadkari launches 11 NH projects worth Rs 56 billion in Rajasthan

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 11 national highway (NH) projects worth Rs 56 billion in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.

It was mentioned that the ceremony celebrated the commencement of four NH projects, which covered a total distance of 219 km and had a cost of Rs 37.75 billion. The aim of the 6-laning project on National Highway 48, from Kishangarh to Gulbapura section, was to strengthen the economic and social development of Ajmer and Bhilwara districts.

Furthermore, the 6-laning of Gulabpura to Chittorgarh section would improve connectivity between Udaipur, Jaipur, and Kota regions, benefiting Bhilwara and Chittorgarh districts.

In addition, it was stated that a 4-lane Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on National Highway 162A at Fatehnagar would help alleviate traffic congestion at the railway crossing.

The event also included the inauguration of a high-level bridge on the Chambal River in Mandrayal under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). This bridge would enhance connectivity between Mandrayal in Rajasthan and Sabalgarh in Madhya Pradesh. During the ceremony, the foundation stone for seven projects with a combined cost of Rs 18.50 billion and covering a total distance of 221 km was laid. These projects included the development of a direct connection from the revered religious site Nathdwara to Udaipur airport. The construction of the Pratapgarh bypass was expected to ease traffic congestion within the city, while the road from Raas to Biaora would facilitate smoother traffic flow towards Bhilwara.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that the tribal areas of Dungarpur, Udaipur, and Banswara would experience improved connectivity, and the construction of bypasses in Sangwara and Garhi would reduce the distance between Dungarpur and Banswara by 10 km. Thirteen animal underpasses were also planned to be constructed in the Todgarh Wildlife Sanctuary on the Beawar-Gomti road to protect wildlife.
