Foundation stone laid for expansion of Gwalior airport


Union Home Minister Amit Shah lay the groundwork for the new terminal building and extension of Madhya Pradesh's Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport in Gwalior.

The new terminal building is expected to cost Rs 4.46 billion to build.

The event was attended by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The new terminal building will be 20,000 sq m in size, as opposed to the current 3,500 sq m.

The airport will be able to park 13 planes after the extension, up from the current capacity of three.
