Five Bidders Compete for E&M Contract of 28 Bangalore Metro Stations

Five firms had submitted bids for the electrical and mechanical contract E&M-6 of Bangalore Metro’s 57 km Blue Line after the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation. (BMRCL) opened technical bids.

This new line, which is currently under construction as part of Bangalore Metro’s Phase 2A (ORR Line) and Phase 2B (Airport Line) projects, is set to connect Silkboard, KR Puram, and Bengaluru International Airport through 30 stations along the Outer Ring Road and national highway NH-44.

The scope of this critical systems contract includes electrical and mechanical works at 28 stations, two traction substations (TSS), and a cut-and-cover section of approximately 718 meters adjacent to Yelahanka Air Force Station. Electrical and mechanical works at the Airport City Metro Station (also known as KIA West Station) and KIA Terminals Station will be included in a separate contract.

BMRCL had invited bids for Package E&M-6 in September 2024, with an estimated cost that is rumoured to be around Rs 1.83 billion, along with a completion deadline of 1.5 years.
