First flight of integrated Air India-Vistara entity departs Doha


The first flight of the integrated Air India-Vistara entity departed from Doha for Mumbai on Monday night. Operating under the code 'AI2286', the flight left Doha at approximately 10:07 pm local time and was expected to land in Mumbai early Tuesday morning.

The code 'AI2XXX' is now being used for Vistara flights operated by Air India following the merger, allowing passengers to easily identify Vistara flights during the booking process.

AI2286 from Doha to Mumbai would be the first international flight operated by the merged entity.

Flight tracking website Flightradar24.com reported that the flight, which was being operated with an A321 aircraft, departed Doha at around 10:07 pm local time.

The flight duration was nearly three hours. For the domestic segment, the source also mentioned that the combined entity's first scheduled flight, AI2984, would take off from Mumbai to Delhi early Tuesday morning.
