Draft Plan for 'New Noida' Industrial Hub Development gets approval
During its 210th board meeting, the Noida Authority granted its approval to the draft master plan-2041 for the Dadri Noida Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR). This expansive region, spanning 21,000 hectares of land set to be acquired in Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr, will be known as 'New Noida'. Unlike the existing residential-centric Noida city, which covers an area of 16,000 hectares, New Noida is envisioned to evolve into an industrial hub.
Lokesh M, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, stated, "The master plan 2041 for DNGIR has been endorsed. The plan allocates 40 per cent of the land for industrial purposes, 13 per cent for residential use, 18 per cent for recreational green spaces, and the remaining land will be designated for institutional and mixed-use developments."
Additionally, the Noida Authority sanctioned various decisions related to group housing and property allocation. Among these decisions, the approval of New Noida stands out as one of the most significant and eagerly awaited ones.
The Noida Authority's strategy involves procuring agricultural land from 60 villages located in the neighbouring Bulandshahr district and 20 villages within Gautam Budh Nagar. This district, in turn, encompasses a total of 81 villages, according to authority officials.
Lokesh M further stated, "With the endorsement of the master plan 2041, the Noida Authority will now solicit input and objections from stakeholders. Once these suggestions and objections are addressed, we will proceed with advancing the project."
Earlier, in June 2021, the Noida Authority enlisted the services of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) to formulate the master plan. SPA has already outlined the land utilisation framework for Noida's expansion towards Bulandshahr, a plan that has received the board's nod of approval.
