Dharavi Redevelopment Survey Nears Completion


The Dharavi redevelopment survey has entered its final phase, with over 63,000 tenements already surveyed, according to Navbharat Mega Developers Private Limited (NMDPL), the joint venture between the Government of Maharashtra and the Adani Group overseeing the project. 

As per the latest update, lane recce has been completed for over 95,000 tenements, more than 89,000 tenements have been numbered, and door-to-door surveys have covered over 63,000 tenements. Srinivas urged residents to participate promptly, as tenements that have repeatedly refused to take part may not be revisited. 

The Dharavi redevelopment master plan is expected to be finalised soon, with an estimated total investment of Rs 3 trillion. The project, described as the world’s largest urban rejuvenation initiative, aims to transform Dharavi and make Mumbai slum-free. The Adani Group, which won the redevelopment bid in 2022 with an initial investment of Rs 50.69 billion, is leading the long-awaited transformation.
