According to people familiar with the situation, Nepal will initially export 50 MW of electricity to Bangladesh, which would boost Nepal's economic fortunes in light of its move to begin selling electricity to India in 2021. In accordance with the agreement that Nepal and Bangladesh reached in August, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has stated that it has sought approval from Indian authorities to export 40-50 MW of electricity to Bangladesh through India's existing transmission infrastructure.

According to one of the people mentioned above, proposals for a formal arrangement are expected to be fine-tuned at a meeting between Nepalese and Indian officials next month. Bangladesh's energy needs will be strengthened as a result of Nepal's energy exports to the country.
