Delhi metro phase 4 gets six bidders for RSS AMS electrification


For Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project, six companies presented proposals by the October end to start receiving and primary auxiliary substations and high-voltage cabling (DE-04).

This 65.1 km project comprises a new line (23.62 km Silver Line: Aerocity-Tughlakabad) and the expansion of the Magenta Line (28.92-km Janakpuri West – R K Ashram) and Pink Line (12.58 km Mukundpur – Maujpur).

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had invited proposals for package DE-04 in June 2021, with a budget of Rs. 29.79 crore and a deadline of 3 years.

The project had six bidders, particularly IRCON International Limited, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Siemens Limited, Linxon India Private Limited, Detail Engineering, KEC International Limited, Sterling & Wilson (SWPL) Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Receiving And Auxiliary main substation including High Voltage Cabling From Grid Substation were some brief scope for Phase-IV Of Delhi Metro Rail Project.

The proposals are presently undergoing technical examination, which might take several months. After that, the financially eligible bidders’ financial proposals will be opened to decide the lowest bidder and most suitable contractor for this package.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will finance this package with an Rs 8,390 crore loan, used to support 44 civil and system projects.
