Delhi-Ambala Rail Corridor to Get Rs 70.74 Billion Four-Line Upgrade

The Ministry of Railways has announced plans to upgrade the heavily used Delhi-Ambala rail corridor from a two-line to a four-line system. Meetings were held with district administration officials in Panipat and Sonepat under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioners to discuss project details.

The Rs 70.74 billion project is expected to be completed in four years and will include upgrades at 32 railway stations along the corridor. Infrastructure enhancements will involve replacing waterlogged Railway Under Bridges with Railway Over Bridges. Additionally, 11 hectares of land will be acquired from 15 villages, with assured compensation for landowners.
