DBL emerges lowest bidder for Raipur-Vizag Expressway’s package CG-2

Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) emerged as the lowest bidder to construct a 56.7 km package CG-2 of the 464 km Raipur-Vizag Expressway.

The 464 km Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor (NH-130CD and EC-15) is also known as Raipur-Vizag Expressway.

This new 6-lane highway will have some sections access-controlled with a greenfield alignment connecting the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Package CG-2 is the second and third packages within Chhattisgarh and will connect Sargi-Basanwahi from chainage 42.8 km to 99.5 km.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited bids for its construction last year in December with a deadline of two years and an estimated cost of Rs. 1203.15 crore. The technical bids were opened in February to reveal seven interested bidders.

The scope of work includes the development of the 6-lane Sargi-Basanwahi Section of NH-130-CD road from 42.8 km to 99.5 km under Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor in Chhattisgarh on Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) of Package CG-2.

DBL’s quoted price of Rs. 1141 crore was below NHAI’s estimate of Rs. 1203.15 crore, so a contract should be awarded to DBL soon without a lengthy financial bid evaluation period.

The technical bids for this project of the 25.161 km section of Package CG-3 connecting Basanwahi-Marangpuri are scheduled to be opened on 1 March.
