Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviewed key infrastructure projects aimed at significantly improving road connectivity to the Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals, and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR). The enhanced connectivity is expected to streamline transportation, ease vehicular movement, and support industrial growth in the region. 

During his visit to Bharuch, CM Patel assessed two major road projects on the Bharuch-Dahej stretch, currently being developed by the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation Limited (GSRDC). These include a 3.4 km, six-lane elevated corridor from Bholav Junction to Shravan Junction, costing Rs 4.4 billion, and a 38.5 km access-controlled expressway from Manubar Junction to Dahej, being built at a cost of Rs 9.72 billion. The total investment in the 41.9 km of road infrastructure stands at Rs 14.12 billion. 

Dahej PCPIR, spread across 453 sq. km, is one of India’s four designated PCPIRs and serves as a critical industrial hub. The Bharuch-Dahej road is vital for connecting industrial workers, investors, and surrounding communities to Bharuch, as well as linking Dahej Port and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor. 

The elevated corridor project is designed to divert nearly 60,000 vehicles away from congested urban stretches, allowing smoother and faster transit. It includes service roads on both sides, each at least 7 meters wide, and has achieved 50% completion. The corridor is scheduled to be finished by March 31, 2026. 

The access-controlled expressway, targeted for completion by December 2026, will include 7 flyovers and 15 underpasses, benefiting approximately 15 lakh residents across 15 villages in the Bharuch-Dahej region. 

Chief Minister Patel, along with senior state officials and engineers, emphasised the importance of maintaining quality and timely delivery of these projects to ensure long-term benefits for the state’s industrial infrastructure.
