Construction of NIA’s main terminal and runway to begin in August

The Noida International Airport (NIA) will begin construction next month on its main terminal building and runway, which must be finished over the following 25 months, with an October 2024 commissioning deadline.

Tata Project (TPL), which has been given the EPC contract for NIA, will construct the building and the runway.

The terminal building and runway will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024, in time for commercial flights to resume. According to the agreement reached by the state government and Zurich AG, the specific date is September 29, 2024. If the deadline is not met, the agreement includes a hefty penalty provision of Rs 10 lakh each day.

The NIA, which will be the second international airport in the NCR, giving the Delhi region the distinction, is expected to handle 12 million passengers per year. Tata Projects will create airside infrastructure, roadways, utilities, landside amenities, and other auxiliary buildings in addition to the terminal building and the 3,900-metre-long runway.
