Coal minister meets Assam CM: Harness state?s minerals
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy stated that he had met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to discuss the harnessing of the state's mineral potential. He mentioned that they had a detailed deliberation on the roadmap for utilising various minerals in the state and ensuring their optimal utilisation for growth with sustainable practices. Reddy further mentioned that he and the Chief Minister had decided to appoint a high-level committee to advance the initial discussion towards extracting minerals in Assam. The Chief Minister's Office posted on X that "Today, Hon'ble Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shri G Kishan Reddy, met with HCM Dr. @himantabiswa to discuss various issues." The meeting took place at Sarma's residence in Guwahati. Additionally, it was noted that Sarma congratulated Reddy on his recent appointment and expressed gratitude for his impactful tenure as the Minister of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) during the last BJP government at the Centre.
