CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Rs 2 Billion Projects in East Champaran
Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several developmental projects worth Rs 2.01 billion in East Champaran district. During the second day of his 'Pragati Yatra,' Kumar visited Sundarpur village under the Kesaria assembly seat, where he virtually laid the foundation stones for the initiatives.
A statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) revealed that Kumar inaugurated a newly constructed government school building in Sundarpur. He also handed over the management of a pond built under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali scheme to JEEViKA Didis, women associated with self-help groups under the JEEViKA project.
Kumar distributed symbolic cheques totalling Rs 30.35 million to 1,26,354 JEEViKA Didis. He instructed concerned officials to begin the immediate construction of two bridges over the Dhanauti River in Majuraha and the Budhi Gandak River in Ibrahimpur area. Additionally, he directed officials from the Tourism Department to focus on the development of the old Sameshwarnath Temple in Areraj.
The statement also mentioned that the state government is committed to providing the land necessary for the expansion of Raxaul airport in the district.
Kumar later visited stalls set up by the state's Rural Development Department, where he inspected the progress of the Swachh Gaon-Samriddh Bihar Yojana. He also distributed a symbolic cheque of Rs 0.12 million to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme.
