CIDCO offers special housing scheme for Covid-19 warriors
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Maharashtra's town planning authority, has granted an extension to its recently announced special housing scheme for Covid-19 warriors and uniformed personnel. The scheme's extension until 21st October was granted in response to applicants' requests, and it is expected to give prospective applicants more time to complete the financing process. The change also gives applicants more time to gather and submit all of the required documents for the application process. The application deadline for this housing scheme has been extended for the second time. The deadline for this scheme was originally set for 9th September. However, an extension was granted until 7th October based on applicant feedback. Several applicants, on the other hand, expressed difficulty in completing all required documents by the deadline. This housing scheme aims to provide homes for doctors, nurses, medical personnel, police, sanitation workers, and other emergency service personnel who have continued to serve the public despite the adverse effects of the Covid19 pandemic. Under the direction of the state government, CIDCO launched this special housing scheme for the Covid19 warriors as well as the uniform personnel scheme on 15th August. The project includes 4,488 tenements in the nodes of Taloja, Kalamboli, Kharghar, Ghansoli, and Dronagiri. The PMAY scheme develops 1,088 tenements for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), while the remaining 3,400 tenements are developed for the general category. Furthermore, according to the law, some tenements are set aside for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, VJNTs, and the disabled. Applicants can now take their time collecting documents such as domicile certificates, Covid19 warrior certificates, and caste certificates, among others, and the extension will give Covid19 warriors more time to finish their applications. CIDCO had already made a loan facility available through its empanelled banks to make it easier for applicants to pay the earnest money deposit (EMD). Applicants in the economically weaker section (EWS) must deposit Rs 2 lakh as an EMD, while those in the general category must deposit Rs 2.5 lakh.
