CIDCO Boosts Navi Mumbai's NAINA with Rs.3115 Cr Tenders

The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has breathed new life into the long-awaited Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) by announcing tenders worth ?3115 crore for crucial infrastructure projects. The initiative aims to expedite development in the burgeoning region, marking a significant step forward for the much-delayed project.

Vijay Singhal, the recently appointed vice chairperson and managing director of CIDCO, unveiled the ambitious plan in response to the area's reduced scope following the notification to create the Third Mumbai around the Atal Setu Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL). Singhal's directive to accelerate work in the region underscores CIDCO's commitment to meet the evolving needs of NAINA.

The tender invitations encompass a range of projects including roads, bridges, vehicular and pedestrian underpasses, streetlights, footpaths, and drains. These integrated development works are slated under Town Planning Scheme (TPS) 2 through 7, reflecting CIDCO's holistic approach to infrastructure enhancement in the area.

Mohan Ninawe, CIDCO's public relations officer for NAINA, outlined the corporation's ambitious investment plans, stating, CIDCO has earmarked ?14,300 crore over the next decade for the comprehensive development of the area. He further elaborated that while integrated road works in TPS 1 have been completed, projects under TPS 2 to 7 are currently underway across 23 villages.

Emphasizing the timeline for project execution, Ninawe affirmed, Upon the conclusion of the online tender process, CIDCO will swiftly proceed with the projects, aiming for completion within three years. He also highlighted the recent government notification designating 80 out of the total 174 villages under NAINA to the MMRDA for the New Town Development Authority, tasked with spearheading the Third Mumbai project near MTHL. The remaining 94 villages remain under CIDCO's jurisdiction for development.

The announcement of these tenders signifies a significant milestone in the development trajectory of NAINA, bringing renewed hope for residents and stakeholders eagerly anticipating the realization of the long-awaited infrastructure projects in the region.
