Centre Approves Two Mega Infrastructure Projects in Bihar


The central government has approved two major infrastructure projects for Bihar, including the Kosi-Mechi river-linking project under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana – Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (PMKSY-AIBP). The Rs 62.82 billion project, to be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode, aims to divert surplus Kosi water to the Mahananda basin by remodeling the Eastern Kosi Main Canal. The central government will provide Rs 36.52 billion as financial assistance, and the project is expected to be completed by March 2029.
