Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana III (PMGSY-III), an investment of Rs 4.7 billion has been approved for rural road projects in Manipur, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Specifically, Manipur will see the construction of 41 roads spanning 280.97 km with an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 billion. Mizoram is set to receive Rs 676.9 million for seven long-span bridges measuring a total of 373.46 meters. Himachal Pradesh has been allocated Rs 1.4 billion for 21 long-span bridges totalling 970.77 metres, while Uttarakhand will benefit from Rs 407.7 million to build nine long-span bridges measuring 246 metres.

Additionally, projects have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) to enhance connectivity in Tripura and Odisha. Odisha will see the development of 25 roads covering 84.35 km with an investment of Rs 764.7 million. Tripura has been allocated Rs 696.5 million for 26 roads totalling 63.27 km and two long-span bridges.

These projects are expected to significantly improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and markets, thereby fostering economic development and bridging the gap between remote villages and urban centres.
