CCTVs Along NH-44 Bypass to Monitor Traffic Violators: Div Com


The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri, announced plans to install additional CCTV cameras along the National Highway’s Tengpora stretch. The move is aimed at monitoring traffic violators and ensuring prompt action against road violations.

Bidhuri highlighted the importance of CCTV cameras in improving road safety and enhancing overall security. He assured that non-functional cameras would be repaired and made operational wherever necessary. "CCTV cameras are essential not only for enhancing road safety but also for ensuring security," he stated.

The commissioner further emphasized the need for proper maintenance and regular monitoring of the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), which was installed under the Smart City project.

In light of the recent Tengpora accident involving underage driving, Bidhuri stressed the importance of moral education to prevent minors from driving, acknowledging the role of community efforts in ensuring safe roads.
