BLR Airport Unveils India's Largest Greenfield Domestic Cargo Terminal

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport), in collaboration with Menzies Aviation, has inaugurated India's largest Greenfield Domestic Cargo Terminal (DCT) by designed capacity. Spanning seven acres, the terminal significantly bolsters the airport's cargo handling capabilities.

Equipped with 42 truck docks and over 400 specially designed cargo bins, the facility ensures efficient loading and unloading processes. Integrated conveyor systems with advanced X-ray machines enhance security and streamline operations. This development aligns with BLR Airport's commitment to supporting India's growing logistics and e-commerce sectors.

The DCT's strategic location and state-of-the-art infrastructure are poised to facilitate faster cargo movement, meeting the increasing demand for domestic air freight services. This initiative underscores BLR Airport's role as a pivotal logistics hub in the region.

In addition to the DCT, BLR Airport is undertaking further infrastructure projects to accommodate future growth. Refurbishment of Terminal 1 is set to commence in August, and expansion of Terminal 2 is projected to be completed by 2028. These developments aim to enhance passenger and cargo services, reinforcing the airport's position as a key aviation gateway.

The inauguration of the Greenfield Domestic Cargo Terminal marks a significant milestone in India's aviation and logistics landscape, reflecting BLR Airport's dedication to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
