Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Launches Digital Platforms

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched two digital platforms to improve citizen services and market operations.

In collaboration with a private bank, BMC unveiled a WhatsApp chatbot enabling residents to pay property taxes, trade license fees, and access municipal services via their smartphones. This initiative eliminates the need for physical visits to municipal offices, streamlining processes and enhancing convenience, according to a BMC statement.

Additionally, BMC introduced a market and vending zone rental collection app developed with a private firm. This platform automates rental collections, provides real-time payment tracking, and aims to boost financial transparency in market operations.

These digital initiatives mark a significant step toward modernising urban governance in Bhubaneswar.
